Getting Back in the Groove: The Weekly Menu

In an effort to get back to both blogging and menu planning, I give you our menu for next week. I need to be using my pantry items more consistently and I find menu planning to be essential in meeting that goal. Actually, for this menu I will only need cabbage (in season, and on sale!) and we'll need to restock the green smoothie ingredients mid-week, but other than that I have everything I need. I started my second quarter this past week, so a menu will definitely be helpful managing my time, since I have a boatload of reading to do. Speaking of which, I need to get back to it!

I also find planning weekly menus the best way to use food I already have. I like the way you set up the menu, Especially the "prep for tomorrow" and "shopping list" columns. Looks like you're getting organized for sure! P.S. I just recently followed you on twitter and enjoy reading your recipes/blog posts. Good luck with your term work!

Hi UE! Thanks for commenting - it's nice to know I'm not just talking to myself :)
Oh, and if you (or anyone) would like a copy of the menu template I'm happy to share, just send me an email.

Sounds like a tasty week you have planned! Meal planning is such a good idea, I really should get in the habit of doing it too, so I don't end up scrambling to cobble together some trashy dinner at the last minute.

Ooh great planner! Can you tell me what program and template you use? This would be perfect for me, right now I just use post-its :)

I have some similar goals currently. Though, just getting started with blogging. This template is great! I usually scribble the plans and prep on the back of scraps and they often get lost. What did you use to create it?

Yeaaahtoast and Cassie, I used Word and made my own template. When I was looking for one originally I wasn't finding one that suited all my needs (read: idiosyncrasies) so I created my own. I'm happy to share it, just email me and I'll send you the blank template.
